This was a challenging and rewarding project, and an honour to be inspired by the beautiful approximately 100 year old windows in the BC Legislature building in Victoria, BC. Our client had spent a wonderful holiday here in British Columbia, and was very impressed with the older stained glass he viewed on his travels. He commissioned us to create authentic stained glass panels for the entrance doors to a room in his home in mainland China. To create these new windows we first needed to fully assess the techniques used in the original windows he admired. We were then able to decide the direction we would take to design and paint the new art work, maintaining the spirit of that original art, and still working within the parameters of the new sizes and location to create a piece absolutely right in a contemporary setting.
