These twelve windows for St Joseph, Langley depict beloved and familiar themes from the Old Testament starting with Creation and ending with the prophet Ezekiel and his vision of the Valley of Dry Bones. They were designed several years ago and then commissioned one or two at a time as benefactors were found.
To depict an entire narrative in each relatively small window was certainly a design challenge, we definitely had favourite elements within the windows – the snake from the Fall of Adam and Eve, the animals in the Noah window, the water that Moses parts, the horses and flaming chariot taking Elijah to Heaven, and the skull in the Valley of the Dry Bones. It was very rewarding to install the last five windows and see the project in its entirety and we are pleased with how well the themes flow from one to the other when viewed.
