In Chinese culture the bat is considered a symbol of happiness and joy. Pictured is one of our decorative bats on the easel with a peach which represents longevity and unity. It’s been fascinating delving into the symbolism and cultural significance of multiple flora and fauna for our latest residential project. Getting the right decorative style and tonal values has taken a fair amount of thought, and making the light refract the way I want through the glass has at times sent me slightly batty….
